Most of our seminars in California are conducted by Nicole Rawson, Screen Time Clinic owner and licensed teacher in California. Nicole has extensive experience teaching all different demographics of middle and high school students in 5 different states during the course of her career, working closely with teens and always being an advocate of parental involvement. Her valuable knowledge of the ever-changing cyber landscape provides parents with an essential snapshot of the online reality eroding our children's critical developmental time. A mother of two teenage boys herself, Nicole dynamically speaks first hand about the challenges and successes of proactive tech monitoring, proven methods to reduce tech usage, and provides tools for parents to become empowered to make change and protect youth from the harmful effects of screen time.
Nicole is also available to speak with youth groups about appropriate and safe online practices, what to do when you encounter sexually explicit photos or hate speech, why it's essential to limit photo sharing to protect your online reputation, and how to craft your conversations with as much respect and sensitivity that you would show someone in person. Since the ability to self-regulate is extremely difficult for youth, Nicole recommends teens and children cooperate with their parents to meet usage goals, be proud to self-limit, and be mindful of healthy tech habits considering the addictive nature of the app designs.
A dynamic and engaging speaker for all ages, Nicole's professionally delivered topics customized for each audience are sure to provide unparalleled value for those in attendance and motivate positive steps towards change.
